Brian Keith Akemann, age 59, of Hartland Minnesota, passed away on May 19th 2022 after a long fight with heart disease. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartland, MN with Pastor Phillip Lepak officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Brian was born on December 27, 1962 to Keith and Dolly Akemann in Wells Minnesota. After Brian graduated from Wells-Easton in 1982, he went on to study auto body repair at Austin Vocational School.
In 1990 Brian married Lanell Hendrickson and together they had 2 children, Randi and Mitch. He worked at Swift and Brown Printing as a forklift driver. Recently he worked part time at TNT Body Shop in Hartland.
Brian had many hobbies such as mowing lawns for neighbors and working on his model cars. He also had a special bond with the neighborhood children and they always had a few jokes to share and he was more of the leader of Willow Street. He was always known for his wit and humor and also getting into trouble with his friends. Brian served as a sexton and head usher at Hartland Synod Church where they attended church.
Brian is survived by his wife Lanell, daughter Randi, and son Mitch. Sister Lori (Todd) Colby of Mankato. Mother-in-law Sharon (Jim) Olson of Hartland. Sisters-in-law Diann (Terry) Kelly of Jordan and Tammi (Matt) Staloch of Hartland. Nieces and nephews Annie Mae, Jake (Britty), Ethan, Morgan (Karl), Chad (Kari). Great niece and nephews Collin, Emersyn, and James. Uncle Randy (Jan) Chose and aunt Mary Akemann. Along with many other extended family members.
Brian had some very close lifelong friends: Duane and Deb Lindely, Doug Lamphier, Dave (Karen) Lamphier, Annie Lamphier, Dale (Brenda) Glazier, Greg (Dawn) Kalis, and Sandy (Jim) Johnson.
Brian also had some very special neighborhood friends: Matt, Paula, Blake, Allie and the rest of the Willow Street crew.
Preceded in death by parents Keith and Dolly Akemann, father-in- law Harland Hendrickson and grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Brian will be missed by so many, including me. He’d always have something smart to say, and I will miss that. He is gone too soon.

Lanell and family-I’m sorry to read of Brian’s recent death. I really enjoyed our ‘bantering’ back and forth that we would do at the NR clinic. I have good memories of “Brian of New Richland”! Prayers for your family during this sad time.

I only met Brian a handful of times, but man, he is unforgettable. The stories he shared, while with Lanell and the Lindely’s, were so, so great! Thanks for the laughs, Brian! Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
