Sharon Louise Vogelsang, age 71, Wells, MN died on March 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00AM at Peace UCC Church in Minnesota Lake, MN with Pastor Joy Bruder officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 31, 2023 from 4:00-7:00PM at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN and continuing for one hour prior to the service at church (10:00-11:00AM). Sharon Louise was born October 21, 1951 in Wells, MN, a daughter to Burnell and Neva Joy (Shuck) Hamann. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School, the class of 1969 and continued her education at Minnesota State University-Mankato, graduating with a degree in education. She was a teacher for Head Start, ECFE, preschool, and was a substitute teacher at area schools. Sharon was united in marriage to Richard M. Vogelsang January 15, 1972 in Minnesota Lake at Peace UCC Church. She was an active member in the American Legion Auxiliary of Minnesota Lake. She made many quilts for veterans, and served as an officer for many years. Sharon had many roles at Peace UCC as a Sunday School teacher, church council member, and as a part of the Women’s Guild. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing, playing cards and games, campfires, and chickens. Sharon especially loved horses and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Richard Vogelsang of Wells, MN; children: Michael Vogelsang of Minnesota Lake, MN and Jayne Kalis of Blue Earth, MN; grandchildren: Haley and Kaden Kalis; mother Neva Joy Hamann of Mapleton, MN; siblings: Nancy (Allan) Miller of Owatonna, MN, David (Judy) Hamann of Cheyenne, WY, Doug Hamann of Ottumwa, IA, and Chris (Craig) Schroader of Minnesota Lake, MN; sisters-in-law: Elaine Wallace of Albert Lea, MN, Audrey Bruegger (John) of New Richland, MN; brother-in-law Loren (Kristin) Vogelsang of Wells, MN; cousin and BFF Wanda Watson of Norco, CA, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father Burnell Hamann; mother and father-in-law Grace and Milton Vogelsang; and infant brother Gary Joe.
We are so very sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. Our deepest condolences to you, Bob, and your family. Russ and Mom would have been so sad to hear this. I’m sure they were there to welcome her home.

Chris and I were classmates at Minnesota Lake School and neighbors/ friends of the Hamann family. I’m sure Sharon babysat for myself and siblings too. My deepest condolences.
