Andrea Roessler, age 83, of rural Minnesota Lake, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 12, 2023. The Memorial Service will be held Friday April 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Peace United Church of Christ in Minnesota Lake, MN with Pastor Joy Bruder officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday April 20, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Peace United Church of Christ in Minnesota Lake, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Peace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Minnesota Lake, MN at a later date.
Andrea was born on February 10th, 1940 at Abbott Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Laurance A. and Wanda (Andrews) Froehlich. She was baptized at Abbott Hospital.
Andrea started school in Waseca then came to St. Clair in the 2nd grade and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1957. Andrea was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in St. Clair, MN. She went on to attend Hamline and then graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Home Economics. Andrea married Curtis on September 29th, 1962 at Peace United Church of Christ. They were married for 60 years. Andrea worked various jobs in Minnesota, California, and Hawaii. She retired from Faribault County Human Services in 2002 after 24 years of service.
Andrea enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and watching them grow up. She also enjoyed reading, birdwatching, craft shows, games, cooking, and baking. Her home was never without treats. She always had a small gift, article, or recipe to give. We will miss being able to call her up for guidance on a recipe.
Andrea is survived by her husband of 60 years, Curtis, her children, and grandchildren: Melani (Greg) Madero of Holmen, WI; Wendi (Steven) Ruoff of Holmen, WI; Tim (special friend Cheryl Fitzloff) of Mankato, MN, grandchildren Isaiah and Joy Madero, Eryn, Elijah and Emilia Ruoff, Michael and Sofia Roessler, special granddaughter Tiffany of Taipei City, Taiwan. Sister Faye (Ken) Johnson of Forest Lake, MN and their children Jana and Jesse and their families, in laws Donna Roessler, Morris and Judy Roessler, cousin Jan (Stephan) Annunziata, and David (Louise) Amlund, as well as special nieces and nephews Eileen, Don, Scott and Carolyn, and many other Froehlich & Roessler family cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gail Froehlich in 1964, mother & father-in-law Emil & Viola Roessler, in-laws John Roessler, Anita & Robert Johnson, Geneva & Melvin Bruegger, Lila & Karl Beyer, Alice & Marvin Schultz.
The family wishes to thank United Healthcare Hospital Hospice for their thoughtful and kind care especially Danielle and Melissa.
Andrea loved the word JOY and what it meant, please honor her by finding joy in your life especially the “little things”.
