Tom was born to Burton and Donna Schroeder on August 21st, 1950 in Mankato. He graduated from Minnesota Lake High School, class of 1969. He was united in marriage to Sandra Ihle on June 8th, 1974 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. The couple made their home in Wells and raised two sons, Tyson and Derek. Tom spent his career at Wells Concrete, retiring in 2017. He was a talented craftsman, and spent many hours in his woodshop creating one-of-a-kind projects for family and friends, some of his favorite projects being those he created for his granddaughters. Tom was especially proud of his role of Grandpa to his four granddaughters, and had the tender heart and sweetness those little girls were so lucky to have. Tom enjoyed nothing more than Opening Day at Target Field, spending time with his family, collecting baseball memorabilia, and being a selfless, doting member of his community. Tom was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Tom is survived by and will be forever missed by his wife of 49 years, Sandy; sons Tyson of St. Joseph, MN and Derek (Tara) of Elko, MN; granddaughters Ihlee, Winslow, Franklyn, and Edisen; sister Jenny (Matt) Simon of Minnesota Lake, MN; beloved nieces Abby and Emma; brothers Charles and Richard (Marcia); sisters-in-law Maxine Bartels and Elaine Ehrich; brother-in-law Larry (Rose) Ihle, sister-in-law Betty Ihle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
