Suzanne F. Martin, age 72 of Kiester, MN, died Tuesday July 8, 2025 at home after a battle with cancer. A visitation will be from 4-7:00pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and will continue one hour (10-11:00am) before the funeral service at 11:00am on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells with Pastor Vern Christopherson and Pastor Peg Marose officiating.
Suzanne Faye Martin was born October 16, 1952 in Albert Lea, MN to Arthur and Berdell (Fure) Trytten. She attended Kiester High School where she was a cheerleader, sang in the school choir and played the flute in the band. She had many fond memories of both Mr.Glende’s bands and choirs. She graduated high school in 1970 and went on to received her LPN in New Ulm. She received her associate in science RN at Riverland Community College in 1999 then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Iowa. Suzanne earned her master’s degree in Nursing Education from Minnesota State University Mankato in 2012.
She was a nurse since the age of 19 and worked in various hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities and public education settings. She finished her career as a licensed school nurse at United South Central schools, after starting in 1991. Suzanne also taught for Riverland Community College and Rasmussen College. She was also proud to have supported Dr. Karan as his nurse in pediatrics at the Albert Lea Clinic. She was a summer camp nurse at Camp Wingate-Kirkland near Boston, MA and enjoyed that adventure.
She was a former member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she sang with the Ladies ensembles and then became a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and sang with the choir and other groups. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hosting and cooking holiday meals, and all things nursing. She liked to decorate her home especially around her favorite time of year, Christmas, where she’d turn her home into a magical wonderland. Suzanne loved to travel and have fun with her friends. Family was very important to Suzanne.
She was preceded in death by Shelby, her beloved English Mastiff; parents; grandparents and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
Suzanne is survived by her children: Amy (Tom) Troska of Emmons, MN; Paul Martin of Kiester, MN; grandchildren: Taylor Martin (Joel Gonzalez) of Albert Lea, MN; Payton (Alex) Garcia of Forest City, IA; great-grandchildren: Emaliese and Dahlia Gonzalez; sister Twyla Trytten of Mesquite, NV; her brother Paul Trytten (Julie Elvebak) of Wells, MN; and many extended relatives and friends who she held dear.
So sorry for everyone’s loss she was a wonderful person and now she will no longer be in pain!

Suzy was a treasure, I remember going to Christmas concertby the Blender. Suzy and I sat next to each other singing and swaying along. A guy sitting behind us ask if we would dance with him in the ailse and if course we accepted. There was never a dull moment with tjis ga, do full of lige and love
Suzanne was a very loving ,kind person. She loved her grandchildren so much. Prayers to the family.

Suzanne was certainly one of a kind! She was a such a great person to work with. Everyone knew when she was up to something because her beautiful eyes would light up and her giggle would give her away. We had lots of fun memories at the Kiester Middle School. Rest in peace my friend.
I so enjoyed being in her company. Loved it when she joined our choir.
She had such a strong will and passion for life. She was loved by many and will live in our memories.

So sorry for your loss to the family, I ve know Susie for a long time since the Albert Lea Clinic days also before that Paul came to my daycare when his parents were working. My cousins were relatived to Susie Doug and Wes Trytten. So as a young gal I wanted to be relatived too,then when my kids had Susie as a school nurse who she was so good. Which is a hard job to be a school nurse well bless her and may peace be with her Susanne you will be missed what a great person and nurse ❤️
Nurse Suzie … I loved her so much!!! All the pranks and fun times we had together!!! She would tease me profusely every time I hightailed it down to her office when my head itched one tiny bit. She always laughed at how squeamish I’d get over the thought of “head lice”!!! Suzie was one very special lady that I will never forget. Even my own kids loved her and I’m not sure if they all three met her personally (since they were “Iowawegians” and weren’t USCMS kids) or if it was just “all the super funny Nurse Suzie stories” I brought home which they dearly loved to hear!!! Again Suzanne will be dearly missed. “My heart felt love and more” is with her family.

I am very sad to hear this news. As her second cousin, we communicated over Facebook quite a bit (as I am in NM) and shared our common interest of interiors. Wish I had visited more and had more laughs with her. Anytime I saw her, her warmth was so genuine and you knew you would be laughing shortly, the Trytten sense of humor was the best! Her love for her family and friends was great and she will be truly missed.
Suzanne was such a wonderful person, full of smiles and laughter. She sang in the Area Community Choir for many years…she could always crack us up during rehearsals & performances. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
