Suzanne F. Martin, age 72 of Kiester, MN, died Tuesday July 8, 2025 at home after a battle with cancer. A visitation will be from 4-7:00pm on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and will continue one hour (10-11:00am) before the funeral service at 11:00am on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells with Pastor Vern Christopherson and Pastor Peg Marose officiating.

Suzanne Faye Martin was born October 16, 1952 in Albert Lea, MN to Arthur and Berdell (Fure) Trytten. She attended Kiester High School where she was a cheerleader, sang in the school choir and played the flute in the band. She had many fond memories of both Mr.Glende’s bands and choirs. She graduated high school in 1970 and went on to received her LPN in New Ulm. She received her associate in science RN at Riverland Community College in 1999 then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Iowa. Suzanne earned her master’s degree in Nursing Education from Minnesota State University Mankato in 2012.

She was a nurse since the age of 19 and worked in various hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities and public education settings. She finished her career as a licensed school nurse at United South Central schools, after starting in 1991. Suzanne also taught for Riverland Community College and Rasmussen College. She was also proud to have supported Dr. Karan as his nurse in pediatrics at the Albert Lea Clinic.  She was a summer camp nurse at Camp Wingate-Kirkland near Boston, MA and enjoyed that adventure.

She was a former member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she sang with the Ladies ensembles and then became a member at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and sang with the choir and other groups. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hosting and cooking holiday meals, and all things nursing. She liked to decorate her home especially around her favorite time of year, Christmas, where she’d turn her home into a magical wonderland. Suzanne loved to travel and have fun with her friends. Family was very important to Suzanne.

She was preceded in death by Shelby, her beloved English Mastiff; parents; grandparents and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.

Suzanne is survived by her children:  Amy (Tom) Troska of Emmons, MN; Paul Martin of Kiester, MN; grandchildren: Taylor Martin (Joel Gonzalez) of Albert Lea, MN; Payton (Alex) Garcia of Forest City, IA; great-grandchildren: Emaliese and Dahlia Gonzalez; sister Twyla Trytten of Mesquite, NV; her brother Paul Trytten (Julie Elvebak) of Wells, MN; and many extended relatives and friends who she held dear.
