Todd Francis Schuster, 64, of Wells, MN, left this earth on September 10, 2025 after a hard-fought, 8-month battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 15, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN. The visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN and will continue one hour before the service on Monday (9:30-10:30 am) at St. Casimir Catholic Church. The family invites you to stay after the visitation on Sunday evening to cheer on the Vikings, have some snacks, and share stories about Todd.

Todd was born May 21, 1961, to Bonnie and Annette (Voss) Schuster, the oldest of four children and grew up just west of Easton, MN. On June 1, 1985, he married the great love of his life, Ann Marie Bias. Together they raised two children: Lauren Frances and John Paul Alexander, and built a life filled with faith, laughter, and love.

Todd dairy farmed with his dad until deciding to return to college in 1992. He attended Mankato State University, graduating with a biology degree, all while working part-time and being a great dad. He went on to work at the Hormel Institute in Austin, MN, for more than 20 years as a Shared Instruments CORE Manager, assisting countless researchers and supporting the company through two major expansions.

Todd shared his love of sports with his family and friends, coaching basketball and summer t-ball, and happily driving his kids (and their friends) to practices and games. He never missed a basketball game or track meet. He loved the Minnesota Twins. He enjoyed collecting bobbleheads and bats and traveling to different MLB stadiums with his entire family and later with Ann by his side.

Most importantly, Todd was the best husband, dad, and papa that anyone could hope for.
Todd and Ann’s love for each other was obvious to anyone who saw them together—whether they were tackling life’s challenges or setting out on a road trip with no clear destination, music playing and hearts full. His family was the most important thing to him. Through innumerable sacrifices, never ending patience, and his steady presence, he made sure they knew it.

He loved reading a good science fiction book, all types of music, a medium rare steak, and telling his granddaughter Ellie bedtime stories.

Todd is survived by his wife of over 40 years Ann; his children Lauren (Tyler) Gibney and John Schuster; grandchildren Gabriella “Ellie” and Jacob Gibney; mother Mary Annette Schuster; siblings Audrey (Pete) Anderson, Curtis Schuster, and Brian Schuster; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Florence Schuster and John and Theresa Voss, his dad Bonaventure Schuster, and his best friend Tom Staloch.

During his treatment, Todd received many, many units of donated blood—a gift that gave him precious time with his family. His family extends their gratitude to everyone who has donated blood and encourages others to consider donating. Memorials can be directed to the family in honor of Todd.
