Beverly Ann Ranes, age 82, of Walters, MN passed away from Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Clark Crossings of Wells by Heartland Senior Living in Wells, MN.  The funeral service will be Monday, September 22, 2025 at Mansfield Lutheran Church in rural Alden, MN at 2:00pm. The visitation will be Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Nasinec Funeral Home in Wells, MN from 2:00-5:00pm and will resume one hour prior to the service at church (1:00-2:00pm).

Beverly Ranes was born on June 29, 1943, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Arthur and Myrtice (Biesterfeld) Yost. She was baptized and confirmed at Mansfield Lutheran Church in rural Alden, where she remained a lifelong member and faithfully served on the Altar Guild.

Beverly grew up in Kiester, Minnesota, and later married the love of her life, Odean Ranes, on November 19, 1960. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three children—Todd, Timothy, and Tammy. Bev and Odean made their home in Bricelyn for 28 years before moving to her family farm northeast of Kiester in 1988.

Over the years, Bev dedicated herself to caring for others in many ways. She provided daycare for children, shared her warmth as an Avon representative for more than 45 years, served as a nursing assistant at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, and worked alongside her niece Jody at Aunt Pearl’s Estate Sales.

Bev’s heart was always with her family. She adored time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved baking for family gatherings—her chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake, and pies were family favorites. In her younger years, she rarely missed her grandchildren’s activities, whether at horse shows, racetracks, or basketball, volleyball, and football games.

Bev will be deeply missed by her husband, Odean; daughter-in-law Diane Ranes of Lake Mills, IA; son Timothy (Lori) Ranes of Forest City, IA; daughter Tammy (Brenan) Bauman of Walters, MN; and her five grandchildren: Tony Ranes (Beth Hoffmann), Krystal (Klint) Knutson, Zachary Ranes, Kyle (Ali) Bauman, and Tara (Donte) Lauwagie. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Kallen and Kipton Knutson, Kaden and Madelyn Bauman, Leo Lauwagie, and another little Lauwagie expected in November 2025; sisters-in-law: Marcy Armstrong and Margo (Fred) Neva; stepsisters: JoAnn Ovrebo, Mary (Russ) Erichsrud, Judy Underdahl, Carol (James) Schroeder; stepbrothers: Earl (Barb) Brandsoy and Dale (Portia) Brandsoy; along with many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Todd; sister Phyllis (Marlen) Enser; parents-in-law Ole and Selma Ranes; sisters-in-law Bergetta (Charles) Goodnight and Thelma (Johnnie) Frerichs; brother-in-law Chuck Armstrong, niece Jackie Frerichs; nephews Tracy Armstrong and James Armstrong; and stepmother Sophia (Brandsoy) Yost; stepsister Shirley (Gene) Anderson; stepbrothers-in-law Eldo Ovrebo and Gary Underdahl.

Beverly will be remembered for her kind spirit, her devotion to family, and the love she poured into everything she did.
