Dennis “Denny” Johnson, age 73, of Bricelyn, Minnesota, passed away on May 31st, 2026. A celebration of life will be held on June 27th, 2026 at Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn MN to celebrate the lives of Denny, Rhonda, and Jesse from 2-5 PM.

He was born on February 19, 1953, in Britt, Iowa, and grew up in Crystal Lake, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Mary Lou Johnson. Denny was one of four brothers: Larry, Mike, and Randy.

Denny married the love of his life, Rhonda, in 1972, and together they built a life rooted in hard work, family, and community. For more than 53 years, they worked side by side on countless projects, including handcrafting original furniture and refinishing antique pieces.

A simple man with a big personality, Denny found joy in everyday things like spending time in his shop, a good laugh, and the company of friends and family. He loved creating with his hands and projects with his car and lawn mower, sharing stories, and bringing a little humor and mischief wherever he went.

Denny was especially proud of his blue 1969 Camaro, a barn find he restored from the ground up into a beautiful show car. He founded the Cruzers Car Club and enjoyed sharing his love of classic cars with others.

His shop became a daily gathering place — a “happy hour” spot where friends and family stopped in to unwind, swap stories, and share a few laughs. Denny also served his community by mowing lawns in the summer and removing snow in the winter.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rhonda; his sons Jason and Jesse; his brothers Mike and Randy Johnson; his parents Raymond and Mary Lou Johnson; and many other loved ones.

Denny is survived by his eldest son Jeremy and his long time partner Carrie; and his grandson Dakota. He is also survived by his grandchildren Taylor, Jace, and Nicholas, children of his late son Jason, and his wife Melissa; and Jaylee, Jazlyn, and Jameson, children of his late son Jesse, and his longtime partner Megan Terry. He is further survived by his brother Larry Johnson.
