
Elizabeth “Betty” Stenzel, age 88 of Wells died Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Clark Crossings in Wells, MN. A visitation will be Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 4:00-7:00pm with a prayer service to conclude the evening at 7:00pm at Nasinec Funeral Home and the visitation will resume one hour prior to Mass (9:30-10:30am) at church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Friday, June 26, 2026 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Father Kurt Farrell will be officiating, and burial will follow the Mass at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.
Betty was born August 3, 1937 in Wells to Harold and Marie (Kuster) Kauffmann. She was united in marriage to Daniel Stenzel November 15, 1956 and together raised their four children on a farm by Walnut Lake. Betty was a farm wife and worked alongside her husband in their lifelong farming operation. She worked and volunteered at the food Co-Op in Wells. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the CCW and the quilters circle. Betty and Dan enjoyed going to Franny’s Bakery and DQ for coffee hour. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, golfing, gardening, canning & journaling about her day and important events. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family and watching them grow.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Richard Kauffmann; sister-in-law Yvonne Kauffmann; brother-in-law Duane Dezell.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Daniel of Wells, MN; her children: Don (Karen) Stenzel of Wells, MN; Joyce (Matt) McCabe of Little Canada, MN; Joan (Trent) Armstrong of Kasson, MN; Susan (Mike) Jaeger of Mapleton, MN; her grandchildren: Darin Stenzel, Dana (Perry) Mutschler and Dezeray Stenzel (Wade Miller); Alex (Torre) Stangebye and Drew McCabe; Jennifer (Heidi) Smisek; Eric (Hannah) Jaeger and Emily Jaeger (Wesley Nelson);10 great-grandchildren; her step-grandchildren: Cole (Sara) Ramsley, Ali (Cole) Fricke, Jessik (Dinah) Armstrong, Nicki Armstrong, Mario Jacobo, Allen (Monica) Armstrong and Chance Costa; sister Mary Dezell of Longmont, CO; brother Dean Kauffmann of Wells, MN; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
